Get Ready For Your Golden Years By Dispersing These Myths
While February is best known for marking Valentine 's Day, it also brings other celebrations of the heart as the American Heart Association has declared it American Heart Month. This is an effort to bring awareness to the fact that cardiovascular disease €”the top killer of women and men in the United States €”can be prevented with lifestyle changes. To help you avoid heart disease, try delicious and heart healthy recipes like this one. To make it, you will need:
- 1 cup of plain low-fat yogurt
- 1 teaspoon of chili powder
- 1 teaspoon of paprika
- 1 teaspoon of onion powder
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1 1/2 pounds of skinless, boneless chicken breasts
- 2/3 cup of reduced-fat sour cream
- 1/3 cup of honey mustard
- 12 metal or wooden skewers
Mix the yogurt, chili powder, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, and salt together to create a marinade.
Trim the chicken of fat and cut each breast into four lengthwise strips. Place the strips in a gallon size plastic zip-top bag and pour the marinade in. Gently shake until the chicken is coated, and leave in the refrigerator to marinate for at least four hours (this can be marinated overnight).
Mix the sour cream and honey mustard together to create a dipping sauce. Set aside.
Drain the chicken in a colander, then thread each strip onto a skewer. Grill for two to three minutes on each side, or until chicken is done. Serve with the dipping sauce.
